About five families who were affected by the war that came to an end in May 2009 were given interest free loan facilities for them to start livelihood activities which will generate incomes for their living.
Our coordinator in Kilinochchi had selected the families and loans of Rs.30,000/- each were given for agriculture(cultivation of ground nuts), carpentry( purchase of timber), poultry farming, purchase of paddy for pounding rice for sale and purchase of textile and garments(punjabi dresses, sarees, childrens clothes etc.) for sale.
The families were granted loans on 11th of June 2019 in the village of Puthumurippu.
