The International Women's Day 2016 was jointly celebrated by the several Mangaiyar Manrams(MM) of the Hindu Council Of Sri Lanka(HCSL) and the Hindu Women's Manram of Batticaloa on 8th of March 2016.
The meeting commenced with the lighting of the traditional oil lamp and the blessings of Ramakrishna Mission Swami Premanandaji Maharaj. Dr.(Mrs.) Anusha Sri Sankar was the chief guest.
The representatives of the MMs of the HCSL spoke of their respective achievements and the help that are being given by the HCSL. Each emphasized that from the very little left behind the war the women are able to lead a comfortable living, educate the children and also save under the micro finance scheme started by the women's division of the HCSL.
On this occasion Mrs.Seevaratnam the co-ordinator of the HCSL supervising the several MMs and the President of the Hindu Women's Manram was honored for services to the women in general.
